| Obverse description | Black intaglio print on plain paper with an ornate engraved border; the upper left carries a circular vignette of the Manx triskelion within a legend band inscribed 'QUOCUNQUE JECERIS STABIT', flanked below by three stacked lathe-work guilloche rosettes and an oval panel bearing the monogram 'JW & E'.
