Opmerkingen

The Guernsey Banking Company Limited was one of several competing private banks operating on the island in the early twentieth century, all issuing their own notes under the looser regulatory framework that Guernsey's semi-autonomous status permitted. Perkins, Bacon & Petch — the London security printers responsible for many of the world's early postage stamps, including the Penny Black — handled the printing, lending these notes the same anti-forgery intaglio techniques developed for philatelic work.

The bank itself was absorbed into the larger Guernsey consolidation that eventually left Lloyds and Barclays dominant on the island, ending all private note issue there.
