| 备注 |
Macculloch, Allaire, Bonamy & Co. operated the Guernsey Bank during an exceptionally turbulent period for Channel Island finance. The Napoleonic Wars had disrupted normal trade routes and coin supply, and small private banks in the islands were issuing paper to fill the gap — not always with adequate reserves to back it.
The firm did not survive long. Private bank failures in the Channel Islands during this era were common enough that local confidence in such notes was fragile from the outset. GN#2 is among the earliest recorded private banknote issues for Guernsey, making surviving examples genuinely rare.
