Obverse description Left-facing effigy of King Farouk I, depicted as a young man wearing a traditional tarboosh (fez) and military uniform adorned with epaulettes, braided aiguillettes, and decorative insignia. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail, characteristic of Percy Metcalfe's engraving style. The Arabic legend to the right reads 'Faruq the First' and to the left 'King of Egypt', flanking the bust in the open field. The rim is defined by a continuous inner beading border.
