| 背面描述 | The reverse features a finely detailed broadside view of the Jersey schooner Tickler under full sail, depicted navigating choppy seas, with rigging and multiple billowing sails rendered in high relief. The vessel is enclosed within a recessed circular panel bordered by a beaded inner ring. The legend BAILIWICK OF JERSEY arcs across the upper field, while ONE POUND curves along the lower periphery; the ship's name and date TICKLER 1858 appear in the exergue below the hull. |

The Tickler was a Jersey-registered schooner that ran a regular cargo and passenger service between Jersey and the French coast in the nineteenth century — the kind of workhorse vessel that defined Channel Island commerce before the steam ferry era. Jersey's 1991 pound series used local maritime subjects rather than the generic heraldic fare most Crown Dependencies defaulted to, a deliberate curatorial choice that distinguished the island's coinage from Guernsey's more conventional approach.
