Alderney's commemorative output is prolific to the point of abstraction — the island issues dozens of collector pieces annually under Royal Mint licensing arrangements, most with negligible connection to Alderney itself. This Remembrance piece is no exception. The island had a population of roughly 1,400 when occupied by German forces from 1940 to 1945, and its wartime experience — forced evacuation of civilians, construction of slave-labor camps — was among the most severe of any British territory.
KM#380 is a bullion-adjacent collector issue with no circulation history.
