Additional information

Alderney, the smallest of the four main Channel Islands, has issued commemorative coinage under British authority since the 1990s — pieces that are legal tender in name but never circulate. The 65th coronation anniversary falls in 2018, an interval celebrated only because the 60th had already been marked and the 70th was still years away.
