Aanvullende informatie

The Britannian silver series debuted in 1997 as the Royal Mint's answer to the American Silver Eagle and Canadian Maple Leaf, giving British investors a sovereign-bullion vehicle in fine silver for the first time. The .958 fineness — Britannia standard rather than the more common .999 — was a deliberate nod to the traditional silver standard used in British sterling flatware, though it was later abandoned in favour of .999 in 2013, making the 2011–2012 issues among the last struck to that specification.
