Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse is dominated by a large intaglio vignette reproducing John Singleton Copley's celebrated painting 'The Death of Major Peirson,' illustrating the 1781 Battle of Jersey, with British troops rallying under the Union flag in Royal Square, St. Helier. A guilloche oval medallion occupies the right side, with the denomination numeral '£1' in a circular cartouche at upper left. The printer's imprint 'DE LA RUE' appears discreetly at centre-bottom beneath the vignette.

Opmerkingen

Jersey's P#11 series ran for over a decade under two signatures — J. Clennett and Leslie May, both serving as Treasurer of the States during their respective periods. The note was issued by the States of Jersey directly, not through a chartered bank, reflecting the island's unusual constitutional position as a Crown dependency with its own currency but no central bank of its own.

De La Rue's watermark security on this issue is comparatively basic by the standards the printer was capable of — the series predates the more sophisticated thread-and-watermark combinations Jersey adopted in later issues.
