| Obverse description | The supported Royal Arms vignette occupies the upper centre, flanked left and right by two oval guilloche medallions each inscribed ONE POUND STERLING. A handwritten promise-to-pay text in script occupies the central field, with the place of issue KINGSTON and manuscript date appearing on either side of the lower text panel. The denominal panel ONE POUND STERLING in letterpress runs along the lower portion, with the bank name at top and JAMAICA at foot, all within a fine engine-turned border. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in dark green-black and centres on a large horizontal oval guilloche panel bearing the inscription COLONIAL BANK, flanked on each side by smaller circular rosette medallions with intricate lathe-work. Above and below the central oval, additional circular guilloche elements display the numeral 1, all framed within elaborate acanthus scroll work.
