Additional information

The Falkland Islands pound has been pegged at parity with sterling since its introduction in 1983, but the islands' coinage is issued entirely independently of the Royal Mint and circulates only locally — sterling is accepted on the islands, but Falklands pounds do not travel in return. This 2023 issue is among the first to carry Charles III's effigy following his accession in September 2022, making the transition coinage a narrow documentary window into the changeover year.
