Reverse description The reverse displays the celebrated Declaration type, with three oval panels arranged within a central cartouche framed by horizontal lines and a beaded inner border. The upper panel contains three royal crowns disposed one above two, with the denomination mark XX (twenty shillings) below them. The middle panel bears the abbreviated Royalist declaration RELIG·PROT·LEG·ANG·LIBER·PAR in two lines, and the lower panel displays the date 1642 in large numerals. The outer circumferential legend reads EXVRGAT:DEVS:DISSIPENTVR:INIMICI, a biblical invocation from Psalm 68 framing the king's political manifesto.
