| 备注 |
The Belfast Banking Company Limited — not to be confused with the Northern Bank or the Bank of Ireland branches operating simultaneously in Ulster — was one of a handful of private joint-stock banks retaining the right to issue their own notes in Northern Ireland after the partition of 1921. That right was preserved under the Currency Act of 1927, which grandfathered existing issuers rather than consolidating issue under a single authority, as had happened in the Irish Free State.
The company was absorbed by the Midland Bank in 1917 but continued issuing under its own name until the series lapsed. Notes from the later dates in this range are noticeably scarcer than early-1920s examples.
