Obverse description Black intaglio on salmon-orange guilloche underprint with multicolour lace-pattern vignette at centre-bottom. The Royal Arms of the United Kingdom, supported by a lion and a unicorn with motto ribbon reading DIEU ET MON DROIT, is engraved at centre, flanked by the promise-to-pay text and the bank's charter inscriptions. Numeral ONE appears in ornate panels at left and right margins, with the denomination panel ONE POUND in a bold cartouche at lower centre; place of issue KINGSTON JAMAICA and date printed at lower left and lower right respectively.

Reverse description Printed entirely in green, the reverse centres on an intaglio vignette of the Royal Arms supported by lion and unicorn, with motto DIEU ET MON DROIT on a ribbon below, set within an elaborate scalloped guilloche frame. Circular numeral medallions bearing the figure 1 appear at far left and far right, flanked by symmetrical foliate rosette ornaments. The bank's full title arches across the top in bold lettering, with the charter incorporation inscriptions at the bottom.
