W. & A.K. Johnston merged with G.W. Bacon in 1954, making this series one of the first to carry the combined firm's imprint — the timing aligns almost exactly with the earliest dates in this issue. The three signature combinations across the run reflect successive appointments to the office of Governor: Elphinstone gave way to Craig in mid-1955, then Bilsland from late 1957, while the Treasurer's signature remained Watson throughout.
The relatively compressed date ranges for Elphinstone & Watson make that pairing the scarcest of the three.
