Obverse description The obverse is printed in a single colour on plain paper with ornate letterpress borders framing the note at top and bottom, within which the bank title appears in full. A central allegorical vignette at the upper portion of the face presents a female figure emblematic of commerce. The promise-to-pay legend, payable at Wellington, N.Z., is set within the body of the note alongside the denomination expressed in words.
