Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Ferdinand VI of Spain facing right, with draped shoulders, occupying the central field of the host coin. Encircling the bust, the Latin legend reads FERND · VI · D · G · HISPAN · ET · IND · REX, with the date 1758 appearing in the lower exergue. Superimposed prominently over the bust is the Jamaican counterstamp, consisting of the crowned royal cypher GR (Georgius Rex) applied in an oval cartouche, authenticating the coin for circulation in Jamaica under George II.
