At centre-right, an intaglio vignette presents a busy historical scene of the Market at St. Peter Port, with market stalls and period figures in the foreground. To the left, the circular Guernsey State seal — bearing the three-lion heraldic shield — is enclosed within a laurel wreath, while the upper centre carries a large ornate £1 denomination device with acanthus scrollwork. The States Treasurer's signature and the obligation text appear to the right, with serial numbers at upper-left and lower-right. |

A portrait medallion of Daniel De Lisle Brock, Bailiff of Guernsey from 1762 to 1842, is inset within the composition. Inscriptions identifying the subject, the historical date, and the printer's imprint are arranged around the central vignette. |
