Bradbury Wilkinson printed this series through a period when Egypt's monetary institutions were being systematically nationalized — the Central Bank of Egypt itself was only established in 1961, replacing the National Bank of Egypt as the sole currency authority. The fact that Cairo continued contracting a British firm for security printing so shortly after the Suez crisis and the nationalizations of the mid-1950s reflects the practical reality that viable alternatives were limited.

Three signature combinations span the issue date range, with Nazmy A. A El Hamed's appearing latest in the sequence. Signature pairings can help narrow the date window considerably on undated examples from this pick number.
