The lower half carries a central intaglio vignette of the Rock of Gibraltar framed by an ornate scrollwork cartouche, with serial numbers appearing twice at left and right, the place name GIBRALTAR, the date, and the signature of the Financial Secretary at lower right. | Reverse description | Printed in dark green, the reverse is dominated by a large ornate guilloche rosette pattern with a central circular medallion containing an intaglio rendering of the Gibraltar coat of arms — a three-towered castle above a key, with the motto MONTIS INSIGNIA CALPE on a scroll below. Pound symbol numerals appear in the four corners and along the side panels, and the denomination ONE POUND is inscribed in a horizontal panel at the base of the central design. |
