Obverse description Green and pale orange note with the large bold title GOVERNMENT OF GIBRALTAR at the top, beneath the inscription ISSUED BY THE and UNDER AUTHORITY OF THE CURRENCY NOTE ORDINANCE 1934. The central denomination panel ONE POUND is printed in red on a guilloche underprint, flanked by the word ONE to left and right. The lower half carries a central intaglio vignette of the Rock of Gibraltar framed by an ornate scrollwork cartouche, with serial numbers appearing twice at left and right, the place name GIBRALTAR, the date, and the signature of the Financial Secretary at lower right. Pound symbol vignettes appear in each corner.

Reverse description Printed in dark green, the reverse is dominated by a large ornate guilloche rosette pattern with a central circular medallion containing an intaglio rendering of the Gibraltar coat of arms — a three-towered castle above a key, with the motto MONTIS INSIGNIA CALPE on a scroll below. Pound symbol numerals appear in the four corners and along the side panels, and the denomination ONE POUND is inscribed in a horizontal panel at the base of the central design.
