Opmerkingen

The Southern Rhodesia Currency Board operated as a classic colonial monetary authority — no discount window, no lender-of-last-resort function, just a fixed sterling exchange and a reserve-backed note issue. Grafftey-Smith's chairmanship coincided with the federation debates that would produce the short-lived Central African Federation in 1953, after which Southern Rhodesia's own currency board notes were quickly superseded by the Bank of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland series.

Bradbury Wilkinson produced the plates at New Malden. This series had a compressed circulation window — federation currency arrived by 1956, making the 1952–1954 date range the entirety of this note's active life.
