备注

Guernsey's postwar £1 series bridged a peculiar administrative gap: the island had issued its own occupation currency under German control from 1941–1944, and the resumption of sterling-linked notes after Liberation required a complete institutional reset. These notes, printed by Perkins Bacon — a firm better known for stamp engraving than banknote production — served an island economy rebuilding its financial credibility alongside its physical infrastructure.

The series ran for over two decades without major revision, which is itself telling. Guernsey's insular authorities saw little political pressure to redesign until the broader Channel Islands currency modernization of the mid-1960s forced the issue.
