Obverse description Pink and green note with an intaglio portrait of King George VI in military dress uniform at right, set within a circular guilloche vignette. The Fijian coat of arms, supported by two indigenous figures, occupies the upper centre, above the bold letterpress inscription GOVERNMENT OF FIJI and the denomination ONE POUND. A large circular watermark space appears at left, surrounded by intricate lathe-work guilloche underprint, with the serial number and three manuscript signatures of the Commissioners of Currency at lower centre, alongside the date.
