| Obverse description | Plain typeset note with a decorative border of repeated ornamental units framing the entire face. The heading GOUVERNEMENTS NOOT. is set in large bold letterpress type across the upper portion, with EEN POND centred below in a slightly smaller bold face. A small arms vignette appears at the left, while the denomination £1 is printed in the upper right corner. | Reverse lettering | Art. 2.—Deze noten zullen een gedwongen koers hebben totdat zij afgelost zullen worden; de aflossing zal geschieden bij wijze van uitloting; de bijzonderheden waren later worden bepaald en zal beginnen op 1 Juni 1901, wanneer een bedrag van een honderd duizend pond sterling zal worden afgelost en zoo voorts zal iedere volgende 1ste Juni een bedrag van een honderd duizend ponden sterling worden afgelost, totdat het geheele bedrag zal zijn afgelost. Zoodra een noot uitgelost en afgelost is, zal ze door den Thesaurier-Generaal en Auditor-Generaal in tegenwoordigheid van twee personen, door de Regeering benoemd, worden vernietigd. Art. 3.—Deze noten zullen een rentekoers hebben van zes percent per annum, betaalbaar aan den houder in klinkende munt, iedere 1ste Juni voor het afgeloopen jaar op het kantoor van den Thesaurier-Generaal of aan per proclamatie aangewezen bank of banken. |
