| Beschrijving voorzijde | Round cast tin pitis with a central circular perforation. The annular field bears an Arabic inscription arranged around the central hole, reading the mint formula in flowing script. The legend, rendered in Arabic characters, identifies the issuing authority and place of mintage. The surface displays the characteristic rough texture of a cast coin, with the inscription occupying the full width of the field between the central hole and the plain outer rim. Minor casting irregularities and patination typical of Palembang tin coinage are visible across the surface. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Plain, uninscribed reverse with a central circular perforation mirroring the obverse. The flat field is featureless apart from the characteristic rough, granular surface texture resulting from the casting process. No legend, design elements, or decorative motifs are present. The surface shows natural tin oxidation and patination consistent with prolonged circulation, with the plain outer rim completing the coin's annular form. |

Palembang's tin pitis occupy an awkward position in Southeast Asian numismatic history — struck in a metal so abundant in the region that the intrinsic value of the coin was essentially meaningless from the outset. The sultanate sat atop significant tin resources in Sumatra, and this practical access drove a local coinage tradition almost entirely disconnected from silver-based trade networks operating through the same ports.
The date range spans several sultans, and attributing individual pieces to specific reigns within the HCM#201–204 sequence requires careful attention to the Arabic script variants and flan preparation differences that distinguish the sub-types.
