Obverse description Cast tin pitis featuring a large central circular perforation surrounded by an annular field bearing a continuous Arabic inscription in Jawi script. The legend reads 'Zarb fi Bilad Palembang Dar al-Salam' (Minted at Palembang City, Abode of Peace), disposed around the hole in a single circular band. The lettering is rendered in low relief with the characteristic irregular surface texture typical of cast tin coinage, and the field shows the granular, slightly uneven finish inherent to the casting technique.
