| Obverse description | Arabic legend encircling a central round perforation, reading clockwise around the hole. The inscription, cast in bold raised characters, reads 'هذا فلوس في بلد ڤلمبڠ ١١٩٨' (meaning 'This is a fulus of the land of Palembang, year 1198'). The script fills the entire annular field between the central hole and the outer rim, with no additional decorative elements. The casting surface shows the characteristic texture of a sand-cast piece, typical of Southeast Asian pitis coinage of the late 18th century. |
