Obverse description The entire field is occupied by a seven-line Latin inscription struck in bold capital letters, reading: LVD. XIIII / REX PIVS / IVSTVS / INVICTVS. / ARIA VNO A° / BIS OBSES / 1641. The text, meaning 'Louis XIII, pious, just and undefeated king, in the city of Aire besieged for the second time,' serves simultaneously as legend, denomination, and date. The square klippe flan features a milled or grained border along its edges, visible on all four sides. The inscription is arranged in a centred, tabular layout filling the field without any figural device or portrait. The date 1641 appears in the final line, beneath the siege reference.

Reverse description The reverse is entirely plain and unadorned, presenting a smooth, flat gold field with no inscription, device, or decorative element of any kind. The surface bears the natural texture of the roughly prepared klippe flan, with minor irregularities consistent with emergency wartime striking. No legend, symbol, or mint mark is present.
