Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Adolphus Frederick IV, Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed flowing wig curls in the late Baroque manner. The portrait occupies the central field, with the truncation of the bust at the lower rim. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy reading ADOLPHVS FRID. IV. D. G. DVX MEGAP., separated by a raised dot, denoting the duke's title by the grace of God. The coin's milled border frames the design with a uniform tooth pattern.
