Opmerkingen

Leinenkugel's has operated continuously in Chippewa Falls since Jacob Leinenkugel founded the brewery in 1867, making it one of the longer-running regional breweries in the upper Midwest. This trade token note — redeemable for a pint at the source — belongs to a tradition of brewery-issued scrip that largely died out with the spread of standardized cash registers and liquor licensing reforms through the mid-twentieth century. Miller Brewing acquired a majority stake in Leinenkugel's in 1988, though the family retained operational control and the Chippewa Falls facility continued brewing.
