The Arabic numeral '37' (٣٧) appears prominently in the lower register, denoting the frozen regnal year of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II. Small decorative diamond-shaped ornaments are interspersed between the lines of text. The legend is arranged in horizontal registers across the coin's face, with no border beading visible. The die-struck lettering is bold and deeply incuse, characteristic of Benares Mint production of this period. |
