Obverse description The obverse features a centrally positioned circular hole surrounded by the denomination and issuing authority inscribed in three scripts. The legend '1 PICE' appears to the upper left of the hole and 'INDIA' to the upper right, both in Latin characters. The Devanagari inscription 'एक पैसा' (One Pice) is positioned to the lower left of the hole, while the Urdu inscription 'ایک پیسہ' appears to the lower right. A rounded Imperial Crown is prominently displayed at the top of the field above the central hole, and the date 1943 is inscribed in small numerals at the bottom. The entire design is framed by a finely milled border of regular denticles.
