Obverse description Central field dominated by a large Gothic letter A rendered in uncial style, enclosed within a raised inner circle. The monogram, initial of Patriarch Antonius (Anthony II Panciera), is boldly struck and occupies most of the flan. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the inner circle, reading ✠ ANTOnIVS, with a cross preceding the inscription. The overall design is characteristic of late medieval North Italian ecclesiastical coinage, executed with the typical irregularity of hand-hammered billon piccoli.

Reverse description A patriarchal or forked cross with bifurcated upper arms occupies the central field, its vertical shaft and horizontal bar dividing the coin into four quarters and intersecting the raised inner circle. The cross extends to or near the inner beaded border, with the forked tips of the upper arm clearly visible above. Portions of the abbreviated legend PThA, referencing the title of Patriarch, appear in the quadrants formed by the cross arms. The design is simple and heraldic in character, consistent with the ecclesiastical authority of the Patriarchate of Aquileia.
