Reverse description Half-length frontal bust of Emperor Otto, crowned and robed, holding a scepter in his right hand. The imperial effigy divides the two-word legend OTTO REX, with the inscription disposed to either side of the bust in uncial Latin script. The style is characteristically schematic, reflecting the artisanal hammered technique of early 14th-century Lucchese civic coinage, issued under the authority of Castruccio Castracani in the emperor's name.
