| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, the letters of the city name LVCA are arranged in cruciform disposition, forming a cross pattern across the field. A pellet occupies the center of the cross and the upper-left quadrant. The surrounding legend reads IMPERIALIS, introduced by a cross pattée, all rendered in uncial Latin script. The overall composition is characteristic of the small hammered denaro coinage of the Italian medieval communes. |
