Banque de l'Indo-Chine's 1 Piastre series relied on Banque de France's printing facilities — an arrangement that was practical rather than ceremonial, given that the colonial bank had no press infrastructure of its own. Walhain and Deloche collaborated on several Indo-Chinese issues during this period; Deloche in particular was a prolific engraver for Banque de France whose work appeared across multiple colonial currency systems simultaneously.
Two signature combinations span the issue's decade-long print run, reflecting successive changes in the bank's directorate rather than separate emission series. The Monplanet pairings tend to appear on earlier-dated examples.
