Four corner vignettes include allegorical and pastoral scenes — an oval vignette with figures at left, a ploughing scene with horses and a farmer at right — while the issuer's name BANQUE CANADIENNE appears in bold letterpress across the centre. The body of the note bears a handwritten promise-to-pay text in French, dated at St-Hyacinthe 1836, with a manuscript signature at the lower right. |
