Additional information

Paluzzo Paluzzi Altieri degli Albertoni was Cardinal Camerlengo at the death of Clement X in July 1676, and under papal law it was his office — not any cardinal's — that held authority over the Sede Vacante coinage. He was, by any measure, a politically formidable figure: a nephew by adoption of the Altieri pope himself, which had accelerated his rise considerably. The conclave that followed lasted only two days, one of the shortest of the century, producing Innocent XI.

Issues of this type are tied to a single interregnum. No restrikes, no continuation of the series once a new pope was elected.
