Obverse description Draped bust of Pope Innocent XI facing right, wearing the papal camauro and rochet with richly engraved vestments, rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner. The engraver's signature HAMERANVS appears in small letters along the lower truncation. The circular Latin legend runs along the toothed (milled) border, interrupted by pellet stops, reading INNOCEN · XI · PONT · MAX · A · VII ·, denoting the pontiff's name, title, and regnal year. The portrait is finely modelled, conveying dignified authority characteristic of late 17th-century Roman medallic art.
