| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Pope Innocent XI wearing a camauro cap and papal cope with richly engraved vestments, rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. The portrait is highly naturalistic, displaying fine detail in the facial features, curled hair escaping from beneath the cap, and the elaborately fringed morse of the cope. The engraver's signature HAMERANVS F. appears in small capitals along the lower rim below the truncation. The circular Latin legend reads INNOCEN · XI · PONT · MAX · A · VII ·, indicating the seventh year of his pontificate, and the coin is bordered by a continuous inner beaded dentilated rim. |
