The portrait is rendered in high relief with considerable baroque detail in the vestments. The bust is contained within a raised inner circle, surrounded by a wreath border. | Beschrijving keerzijde | Christ standing to the left, nimbed with radiant glory, his right hand raised in blessing and his left extended toward Saint Peter, who kneels in submission to the right, depicted with a halo and holding the papal keys upward in both hands. The scene is rendered in the baroque figurative style typical of mid-seventeenth-century Roman coinage. A wreath border frames the composition, with the legend IN VERBO TVO distributed in the upper field and ROMAE inscribed in the exergue below. |
