| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborate papal coat of arms of Clement XI, featuring a tiara surmounting the shield flanked by the crossed keys of Saint Peter, the whole composition richly enveloped in baroque acanthus scrollwork and foliate ornaments. The shield itself displays the Albani family arms bearing a six-pointed star above three hills, rendered in high relief. Two crossed papal keys extend diagonally from the upper portion of the achievement. The circumferential legend reads CLEMENS XI P M AN XIII, separated by star stops, within a beaded inner border and a finely milled outer rim. |

| Reverse description | A finely engraved bird's-eye perspective view of the Piazza della Rotonda in Rome, dominated by Bernini's Fontana della Rotonda at centre, featuring the ancient Egyptian obelisk surmounted by a papal cross rising above a basin supported by sculptural figures, with cascading water jets visible below. The surrounding piazza is depicted in remarkable topographic detail, with multi-storey Roman palazzi lining the square and numerous small figures of pedestrians populating the foreground steps and pavement. The engraver's initials E·H· appear at lower left of the exergual area, beside a small papal shield supported by volutes at the base. The arc legend FONTIS ET FORI ORNAMEN runs along the upper border within a beaded inner circle and a reeded rim. |
