Obverse description Draped bust of Pope Clement XI facing left, wearing the camauro, the traditional papal winter cap. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine baroque detail typical of early 18th-century Roman engraving. The legend arcs around the periphery, identifying the pontiff and his regnal year. The engraver's name, BORNER, appears in small letters below the truncation of the bust.
