| Obverse description | St. Peter depicted in a reclining pose, nimbed and draped in flowing robes, occupies the upper central field. Beneath him is the papal coat of arms of Alexander VII (Chigi family), surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, interrupted at the lower left by the word ROMÆ. The overall composition is executed in high relief in the baroque style characteristic of mid-17th century Roman coinage. |

| Reverse description | St. Thomas of Villanova, depicted as a standing figure in classical drapery, extends his right hand to distribute alms to a kneeling, semi-nude beggar at the right. The scene is rendered in vigorous baroque relief, conveying the saint's celebrated act of charity. The circular Latin legend encircles the composition, reading continuously around the periphery, with the abbreviated mint or issuer designation I·E·M·I·S·S integrated into the legend at the right. A small star ornament appears at the base of the field. |
