Obverse description Central field features the arms of Salzburg — a horizontally divided shield displaying the episcopal insignia — set within an ornate oval cartouche surmounted by a crown. Elaborate baroque scrollwork flanks the shield on both sides. The letters S and B, abbreviating Salzburg, appear divided to the left and right of the shield in the field. The coin's rim is defined by a fine beaded border.
