Obverse description Central shield bearing the Waldeck arms, depicting an eight-pointed star on a dotted field, surmounted by a princely crown. The circular legend reads: *FURST.WALDECK. SCHEIDE MUNZ, arranged around the periphery of the coin in Latin script. The design is rendered in a plain, utilitarian style typical of early nineteenth-century German territorial coinage, with a milled border encircling the entire face.

Reverse description Plain field bearing a four-line inscription stating the denomination and date: numeral '1' flanked by two small stars on the first line, followed by 'PFENNING' on the second line, the date '1809' on the third line, and the mintmaster's initials 'F W' on the fourth line. The legends are engraved in large, bold Roman capital letters, with the milled border running along the coin's edge. The overall design is stark and functional, consistent with small-denomination Scheidemünze coinage of the period.
