Obverse description Standing figure of the Wild Man (Wilder Mann), the heraldic emblem of Brunswick, depicted facing forward with arms outstretched and a fir tree to his left. A mintmaster's mark appears in the exergue below the figure, within a rectangular cartouche. The design is rendered in a bold, somewhat archaic style typical of early 18th-century German copper coinage. The coin is bordered by a fine toothed rim.
