Obverse description Standing figure of the Wild Man (Wilder Mann), the heraldic emblem of Brunswick, depicted facing forward with arms outstretched and a fir tree to his left. A mintmaster's mark appears in the exergue below the figure, within a rectangular cartouche. The design is rendered in a bold, somewhat archaic style typical of early 18th-century German copper coinage. The coin is bordered by a fine toothed rim.

Reverse description The denomination and designation inscribed in four lines across the field: the numeral '1' at the top flanked by two decorative quatrefoil ornaments, followed by 'PFENNING' on the second line, 'SCHEIDE' on the third line, and 'MUNTZ' on the fourth line, with the date '1730' in the exergue below. The bold, raised lettering is characteristic of early 18th-century German Scheidemünze (small change) coinage. The reverse is enclosed within a toothed border.
