| Obverse description | Central field bears a heraldic shield containing a cross, enclosed within a beaded or rope-like inner circle. The shield is rendered in a simplified Gothic style typical of Livonian Order coinage of the early sixteenth century. Surrounding the inner circle is a circular legend in decorative uncial lettering, reading MONETA · REVALIE ·, denoting the coin as currency of Reval. The overall composition is characteristic of small hammered billon issues, with the design displaying moderate relief and some irregularity consistent with hand-striking. |
