Obverse description A plain, undecorated shield occupies the central field, with the right half bearing a shaded area over a cross pattée. The shield is rendered in a simple Gothic style characteristic of late medieval Livonian coinage. No legend or inscription surrounds the design, consistent with the anonymous character of this small denomination. The cross extends beyond the shield outline, filling the available field of this irregularly shaped flan.
